What Has Skin Free Skincare Been Up To?

Well, it's obvious that blogging hasn't been tops on my mind. We have had a few trips. Made some new products. Started a new website. I think I'll let a few of our reviewers give some Skin Free Observations and get back to you after we visit the kids in Orlando.

Meet Jennifer from Giveaways and More:

"I'm a thirty something married woman living in a rural area of Oregon where I own a small business but just got a new job with a bank. I love to offer my readers reviews and giveaways of products!

My skin has always been problematic. As a teenager and still as a thirty-something woman, I struggle with blemish-prone, oily skin. Trying to find products that keep blemishes at bay while, at the same time, retaining some of the moisture so that my skin doesn't feel like sandpaper is so hard for me! I've tried everything from expensive products that can only be purchased in salons to products that are very inexpensive and can be bought at your local drug store. Nothing seems to work. I fully intend to struggle with this problem for the rest of my life!

However, while I still haven't found that "miracle product" that will take away all my woes, I have found a group of products that help lessen the problems that I've experienced over the years. Skin Free Skincare products are formulated by a pharmacist and recommended by doctors for those with sensitive, delicate and very dry or damaged skin.

I received three different products from Skin Free and Blue Ridge Gypsy Studio including Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin, the Extra Moisturizing Soap & Shampoo Bar and Butter Cream Hand and Body Lotion in Tuscan Lavender. I was so excited to receive the lotion because I love the smell of lavender! This lotion lived up to my excitement because it smells lovely and just like I'm standing in a field of lavender. It is not at all greasy on my skin and it absorbs wonderfully. The consistency is light while still providing enough moisture so that my skin does not dry out.

My husband was thrilled with the Acai Scrub! In fact, he used it one morning after shaving and excitedly announced later that evening that his skin was still very smooth. No five o'clock shadow here! I was also happy with the scrub. It smelled wonderful without any of the perfumes that you normally have in a scrub. It felt natural on my skin and didn't leave any greasy residue after rinsing it off. The first time I used it I was a little bit freaked out because it does have a brown tint to it which I could see in the tub while rinsing but it didn't stain my tub. All in all, this was a great product that works to remove excess dry skin!

The last product we tried was the Extra Moisturizing Soap & Shampoo Bar. Both my husband and me were amazed at the way that the bar cleansed our skin with drying it out or leaving a film. I've never used a bar soap that didn't leave my skin feeling tight and dry so I was thrilled when this one cleaned without drying. I didn't try it as a shampoo bar but I bet it would do a great job at cleaning hair, too!"

Thanks for the great review, Jennifer! I'm glad your husband enjoyed the scrub. Many more men are buying our products. For those of you who enjoy the quality of Skin Free products, but would like more fragrance, please visit the Blue Ridge Gypsy site. Both sites share the same shopping cart, which means you only have to enter information one time. It's really convenient! You can find some great gifts there, too for birthdays or for Christmas. Santa will be here before you know it.

All the very best, Julie

Joy from Girly Girl Giveaways Gives Us Her Thoughts on Skin Free Skincare

Joy is a stay-at-home-mom to three daughters. She is the wife of a worship leader & youth pastor. She runs her own Etsy shop selling handmade, hand-stamped sterling jewelry. Joy has taken courses in journalism, play writing, poetry, was in Honors English throughout school and has had small publications made of her work (mostly poetry). All product reviews expressed in this blog are the personal opinion of Joy. There was no compensation for these opinions though in some instances item(s) were provided for review. Joy's blog can be found at Girly Girl Giveaways.

Here's what she had to say:

"I love finding natural bath and beauty products that are not only healthy for my skin but SMELL GOOD! Some natural things just smell a little too earthy for me. Skin Free sent me some Whipped Tamanu Body Butter, an Extra Moisturizing Soap & Shampoo Bar and the Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin. First of all you must know the Skin Free Skin Care products are all natural and vegan. They do not contain harsh chemicals or petroleum-based ingredients. The best thing you can do for your skin and body is use natural products!

Whipped Tamanu Body Butter- This body butter is amazing! It is NOT GREASY! I just put some on a couple seconds ago and my hands are soft, moisturized but without the residue and grease that most other products leave behind. My skin looks healthy and clear, too. As for the scent it reminds me of roses with a hint of citrus! It really is delicious. I don't have anything negative to say about this amazing body butter that has become a staple in my house! Best part is that it is natural and safe to use on my kids and baby, too!

Extra Moisturizing Soap & Shampoo Bar- This soap can be used for your face, body or hair! I haven't had a chance to use it on my hair. It is a clean soap that gets your skin clean and washes away well. Most soaps leave a residue that you can feel and can leave your skill dull. NOT this soap!

Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin- Now this scrub is a more natural scent than the Tamanu Body Butter but it happens to be my favorite bath and beauty product to review to date! You get the powerful antioxidants from the Acai berry and the scrubbing power of the granules for optimal exfoliation. I use this scrub on my face, my body, my knees and elbows and heels. It softens the rough patches but is gentle, leaving my skin clean and clear. It feels so amazing to rub this into your skin, especially your face and to wash off all the stress, dirt and grime. My skin is dry and sometimes I get mild rosacea. I love having products that are natural AND help fight the problems my skin sometimes faces due to the environment and my makeup. This is a must-have product for people of all skin types!!! The only problem that I had was that it leaked in the box when it was shipped. The leak had no affect on the product quality and was just a shipping mishap.

Skin Free has many more products for people with sensitive skin or blemish problems. You should know that Skin Free products are formulated and designed by pharmacist, Julie Hilton, a sufferer from skin allergies and blemish problems. She created this line of products for people who needed a skin regimen without the harsh chemicals. Read the About Us page for more information!

I love these products so much I am considering becoming an Affiliate. You can become one, too! Just visit the Affiliate Information page. You can also find Skin Free Skin Care products online at walgreens.com, cvs.com and drugstore.com!"

Thanks, Joy, for the great review!

LOVETOSHOPMOM Reviews Skin Free Skincare Part Deaux

Jamie aka LoveToShopMom and her Little Miss Diva (2 yrs old on Saturday!) give their thoughts on Skin Free products:

"I have complained many times about my dry skin issues, and have expressed my inner urge to be more Eco-friendly or even at time the need to be vegan friendly, and most of all I have expressed the desire to only use all natural products on my daughter and in my house. I am extremely picky when it comes to using beauty products, I expect the products I use to live up to a certain standard, and still be made from all natural ingredients that will not harm my skin. Last summer Skin Free sent me a few products to try and I fell in love, you can read my previous posts, here.

Skin Free recently sent me a few more products to try for the purpose of this review. I received the Whipped Tamanu Body Butter, Extra Moisturizing Soap, and the Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin. All of which are fabulous products.

I am very picky and particular when it comes to body lotions, I have to apply some form of body lotion daily because my skin is so dry, but I hate when a lotion feels heavy and goopy on my skin. There is nothing worse than stepping outside in the 100 degree 100% humidity weather in the middle of a Texas Summer covered in a thick sticky body lotion that will not dry and leaves you feeling super icky. I hate this! When I use a lotion I want it to be light and dry fast but at the same time it has to moisturize my skin. Which is exactly what the Skin Free Whipped Tamanu Body Butter does.

Oh man I am in love with this body butter, the Whipped Tamanu Body Butter contains no fragrance, no petroleum products, no colorants, and no harmful chemicals so I feel confident knowing that I am applying a product to my skin that will not harm me. I love the way my skin feels after I have applied the Tamanu Body Butter, I am left with soft skin that does not feel sticky or dry out through out the day.

My daughter has a mild case of Eczema, and all though she does not break out all the time, I do have to be careful what products I use on her skin to avoid a break out. The Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap was Awarded the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance August, 2008, which makes me feel good as a concerned parent and consumer that I am purchasing a product that is safe for someone with Eczema. I used the Extra Moisturizing Soap on Miss Diva and was happy with the outcome, most times when we use a new soap on Miss Diva she breaks out, but not this time. The Extra Moisturizing Soap actually helped to make her skin soft and smooth and I am one happy Momma!

I really love the way my skin feels after I use body scrubs, but most scrubs can be a little too harsh for my skin. But the Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and with just a hint of shine to it. I really loved how healthy my skin looked and felt after using the Acai Scrub for Sparkling Skin and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a great body scrub!

I love all of Skin Free's products because they contain no fragrance, no petroleum products, no colorants, no harmful chemicals, are all natural and use vegan friendly ingredients, no animal testing, do not leave a greasy feeling, and best of all have a money back guarantee.

To learn more about Skin Free, purchase these or other great products, or find a location near you where you can purchase Skin Free Products, just visit their website. http://www.skinfree.net/

Thank You Skin Free for allowing me to review your products again!"

Thank you, Jamie! Have a great summer!

Skin Free Skincare Helps with Serious Dermatitis

This is an unsolicited letter from one of our clients:

"To Whom it may concern:

For the past five years I've been dealing with and diagnosed with Nerve Dermatitis. I'v used everything to help clear it up. I had to eventually get antibiotics to treat a bacterial infection. So now thanks with the help of your soap I'm pleased to say that the skin condition is clearing up.

I have been using your soap now for about two whole months (Jan, Feb, Mar). My skin is so much healthier. I've been telling everyone how good your soap is!

Thanks a million!"

First of all, let me comment that there is nothing medicinal about our products. Skin Free Skincare offers healing properties by virtue of "doing no harm" We use only the best, organic when possible oils and butters straight from Nature.

Fortunately, Nature has provided some pretty awesome anti-inflammatories and anti-oxidants in those oils. By giving the skin a chance to heal itself and form it's naturally occuring protective barrier, Skin Free is helpful in healing.

New Skin Free Review at Here and There Blog

Pat over at the Here and There blog bills herself as a "bargain hunting traveler". She and her husband spend a lot of time traveling in their RV and visiting their time share. They've been everywhere in the US except Alaska, so she's a pretty good source of travel and bargain information.

Pat was the typical "skeptical and reluctant" reviewer who didn't believe in the Skin Free magic. Now that I know she goes to Disney World at least twice a year, I know that she must clap for Tinkerbell! Why not for Skin Free?

Having had miserable experiences with her skin forever and gone through the usual expensive doctor visit ritual, she wasn't sure Skin Free could do anything for her.

AH HA!! Fooled another one!!! Pat now loves the Extra Moisturizing Soap with it's rich lather.

The Super Moisture Body Balm lived up to it's claim. Pat says, "I am proof of what the label claims: for delicate, sensitive or very dry skin; helpful for allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis."

The Whipped Tamanu Body Butter was the icing on the cake. Now Pat says, "Finally I have a skin that looks great and feels great too. It is soft, supple, not oily."

Would you like to join Pat in the pleasures of Skin Free Skincare? She's got a giveaway going for a $30 Gift Certificate for our products.

For those of you who want to shop locally, don't forget Walgreens is now carrying our Soap, Balm, and After Shower Moisture Spritz. Check this link for store locations and more information.

The Clan McLeod Take a Stand on Skin Free

Gina, who writes The Clan McLeod blog, recently reviewed some of my favorite products from Skin Free Skincare.

Gina received Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap, Skin Free Sweet and Smooth Sugar Scrub, and my very favorite, Skin Free Whipped Tamanu Body Butter. Since the SF Sweet and Smooth Sugar Scrub is oil based, I rarely moisturize on top of it. Not Gina! She went for the whole shebang and used all three in one sitting! That girl has got to be the softest, sweetest, smoothest woman for miles.

Why don't you vist Gina's blog and see the experience from her perspective.

Mommy's Hangout & It's Just Simply Unique Do the Skin Free Happy Dance

Jennifer from It's Just Simply Unique is starting a second blog called Mommy's Hangout. So she got wild and put her review on one site and the giveaway on the other. Hope ya'll can keep it straight!

Jennifer is another girly scent girl (Blue Ridge Gypsy Studio has fragranced products. She wasn't too sure she was gonna like our unscented brand until she tried it. Then the usual "ohhh that feels so good" reaction set in.

She went bananas at that point and started rubbing Skin Free Sweet and Smooth Sugar Scrub and Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap all over her entire family.

I think it was very nice of her to share. Not only did Jennifer get soft and sexy, but her daughter Jada got an improvement for her eczema, and her daughter Jasmine tried to take the whole bunch of stuff for herself.

I really think you ought to go visit Miss Jennifer at Mommy's Hangout and read her review. Then you need to skip on over to It's Just Simply Unique and enter Jennifer's giveaway for a $30 Skin Free Gift Certificate. I do, I really do!

Cherrie @ Im A Hot Mom Loves Skin Free for Acne and Rosacea

I don't generally recommend Skin Free products for Rosacea because it's a complex disease and has a bacterial component. That being said, Cherrie B., the beauty and brains behind I'm a Hot Mom has written a great review about Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap and Shampoo Bar actually helping her facial issues. She also has been using the Skin Free Super Moisture Butter Creme on herself and her kids with great success.

If you are interested in reading Cherrie's comments (and I know you are!!) please check out this link and see what she has to say.

Thanks Cherrie for a really great review! I'm so glad the products helped out. Don't be afraid to use Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap on Zoe- Pugdog. She will be most appreciative! Jules

The Coupon Queens of Laurel Ridge Evaluate Skin Free Skincare

Miss Katie, one of the Coupon Queens of Laurel Ridge was kind enough to review our Skin Free Eczema Relief Pack, which contains Skin Free After Shower Moisture Spritz and a couple bars of our Skin Free Extra Moisturizing Soap and Shampoo Bar.

Actually she designated her husband as chief guinea pig and you know husbands can be a little skeptical from time to time. Not this gentleman! He says that Skin Free is "awesome"! It's great for his really dry skin and his psoriasis.

Katie likes all the non-toxic ingredients and the fact that it has no fragrance. So do I!!! She's got a lot of other great things to say about the products, so go on over and visit her site.

Some People are REALLY Happy That Skin Free is at Walgreens

"My name is Donna And I'm from Chicago IL.

I would like to submit a testimonial for your wonderful products! They are the only products which have fixed my face. For years I've been combatting dry, sensitive, reactive skin. There were times my skin hurt so much Iwould break down in tears. My dermatologists were at a loss. They kept recommending products, both over the counter and prescription, and all of them didn't help, sometimes they made it worse. I stumbled upon your soap in Walgreens and within 2 days, my skin began to heal. No more burning, flaking or redness. Just smooth, healthy skin. I've just placed an order for more of your products. Please don't ever discontinue your bar soap!

Thank you so much for creating a product that does what it says!

We've been to three area walgreens and bought all the bar soap up! Thank you again!"

Skin Free Skincare at Walgreens

April 17th was the first official day that Walgreens stores would start putting Skin Free Skincare on their shelves. Those in the know tell me that in reality, the products may not make the shelves until May 1 and not all the stores listed on our website will be carrying the products until they see a demand.

That means you can be a big help in enlisting Walgreens stores to carry the product.

How?

1) Visit our website and check out the locations near you.

2) Visit your local Walgreens and mention the products you are looking for to the Health and Beauty Advisor or the Store Manager. Walgreens will be carrying the Skin Free Super Moisture Body Balm, the Skin Free After Shower Spritz, and the Extra Moisturizing Soap and Shampoo Bar.

3) If the HBA and the Store Mgr haven't heard about the products, they may not have had the products automatically sent out. They still have the option to order them, so please let them know that you would like the products carried in their store.

This will be a big help for Skin Free and for Walgreens to determine where the demand for product exists. In today's economy, nobody wants to waste time, effort or money! Thanks everyone for your assistance. And remember--you can call the store and not waste gas to get the same effect!!!

All the very best, Julie

Skin Free Makes Friends At American Academy of Dermatology Meeting

WOW!!! That's all I can say about the extravaganza of the AAD Meeting all the super big companies were there with no holds barred. Aveeno even put in a garden around their island booth representing all the ingredients in their products.

We met dermatologists from all around the world. One amazing thing caught my attention: Eczema in Infants and Children is an International problem. This strikes me as quite shocking. Why would an auto-immune issue like eczema be an international issue. I think this requires some serious investigation.

Skin Free was a great hit and we did manage to give away the 6000+ bars of soap that we took to distribute. Since the proof IS in the pudding, I think we will have a lot of converts to the products very soon.

One thing I know, our product line is definitely distinct in it's formulation and the dermatologists were very excited to see that. They were also interested in our placement at Walgreens.

Keep your eyes posted for Skin Free Products to start appearing on Walgreens shelves around April 17th. It may take a while for all the stores to get their product. Please let the managers know that you are excited it's coming!!

Thanks to all! Julie
